The 1850 U.S. Census reports a lad of 3 years named Adaniram (or Adoniram) Judson Rice living with his parents in Troupsburg, Steuben, New York.  His parents are Warren Rice (36 years) and Amy M. Rice (27 years). He has three brothers: Henry E. Rice (6 years); Charles W. Rice (4 years); and George B. Rice (2 years). This lad was just after Adoniram Judson the missionary made his only visit to the United States, 1845-1846. I wonder if that visit impacted Warren and Amy as they chose a name for their new son.
