January 10-11, 2026. I enjoyed a winter trip through Indiana and Michigan visiting Judson sites and celebrating a Judson anniversary. I found Judson, Indiana, a hamlet in Parke County (see entry 1872-Present/Village of Judson/Parke County/Indiana IN) and decided I did not want to live there. The burg is not in good shape except for 3 homes and a well-kept Judson Baptist Church. The sign at the church entrance is new and announces the times for Sunday morning worship. It would be an interesting follow-up.
On Sunday, January 11, I celebrated the 95th birthday of Judson Memorial Baptist Church in Lansing, MI. (See entry 1931-Present/Entries/Judson Memorial Baptist Church/Lansing MI) Pastor Zachary Bartels and his wife, Erin, are wonderful hosts. The church provided a room at The Wild Goose Inn near the campus of Michigan State University which was magnificent. Both Zach and Erin have published several books that are of interest to me. I am reading my first one now.
I had good contacts with Judson University friends, Dale Voelker and Larry Sheets.
