Adonirum Judson Skinner
Union Soldier Ohio/Indiana OH/IN
Pvt. Adonirum Judson Skinner was born 20 Aug 1842 in Ohio though we cannot find the specific location of his birth. His father was Rev. William Ohio Skinner (1816-1898) and his mother was Rachael Seal Skinner ( 1818-1885). They married in 1838 and birthed 11 children. Adonirum was number 3 of the brood. He was a private in the Union Army during the Civil War and died on 9 March 1865 just a month before the war was ended. We know nothing of his personal life but will accept this variant spelling of Adoniram as representative of phonetic spelling of the time. We have, however, this snippet of his military career.

Pvt. Adonirum Judson Skinner enlisted on 29 July 1862 for three years with Co A 93rd Regiment Indiana Infantry. He died on 9 Mar 1865 prior to being mustered out. The exact circumstances of his death are unknown. The Adjutant General’s report says he died at Jeffersonville Indiana.[i]
