August 11, 2025. Judson University and Judson College. In mid-August the Judson legacy is apparent in Christian Higher Education. Two schools that carry the Judson name will open this week advancing the cause that was so important to both Ann and Adoniram Judson. Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, has been welcoming students under that name since 1963. Previously the school was the undergraduate division of Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago. Judson College became the name of the undergraduate division of Southeastern Seminary last fall (2024) and will begin her fall semester this month also. Six other institutions have carried the Judson name in Burma, Illinois, Alabama, North Carolina, Arkansas and Oregon but have found it necessary to close their doors. We wish the best this school year to the students, faculty and staff at Judson University in Illinois and Judson College in North Carolina.
