(Compiler’s Note: I found 3 people named Adoniram Judson Van Ornum with a variety of spellings and will lump them all together. One pair is father and son while the third is noted on a tombstone in California

First. When Adoniram Judson Van Ornum (also spelled Adnirum Orum) was born on 7 July 1857, in Edwards, St. Lawrence County, New York, his father, Sardine Stone Van Ornum, was 32 and his mother, Eunice Harmon, was 33. He was number 7 of 8 children born to this couple. On 4 July 1881, he married Minnie A. Snyder in Chicago, Illinois. They were the parents of 2 daughters (Mable and Minnie) and one son, also named Adoniram Judson Van Ornum. For the 1880 census, Mr. Van Ornum lived in Oceana, Michigan, but by 1910 he was back in Chicago, Illinois. Adoniram Judson Van Ornum died on 4 July 1924, in Lafayette Township, Coles County, Illinois, at the age of 66, and was buried in Mattoon, Coles County, Illinois.[1]
Second: The son, also named Adoniram Judson Van Ornum (1887-1952), spent his life in Chicago and was a freight agent. He married Ella Johanna Wapp on 12 September 1912 and together they had a daughter named Renata Gertrude and a son named Albert Judson. This second Adoniram Judson Ornum is buried in Acacia Park, Cook County, Illinois.
