Adoniram Judson Davidson
Baptist Pastor Nova Scotia/Canada
Adoniram Judson Davidson was a Baptist minister who was baptized in 1858; licensed to preach in 1873; matriculated at Acadia College: in 1872; preached for a while in 1873 at Isaacs Harbor, and in 1874 undertook a mission to Eatonville, Nova Scotia. He died at his home in Portaupique, January 14, 1876, aged thirty-three years.[1]
(Compiler’s Note: The prevalence of the Judson name in Nova Scotia is linked to the strong Baptist tradition in the province. After the famous missionary Adoniram Judson and his wife Ann converted to Baptist beliefs on their way to Burma in 1812, they became heroes to Baptists across North America. Nova Scotia Baptists, particularly those associated with Acadia University, were deeply influenced by Judson’s mission, leading many families to name their children in his honor. )
